Motorcyclist’s Severs Toes in Gaslamp Collision

A motorcyclist was taken to a local trauma center shortly after an injury inducing accident where his toes were severed. The accident occurred Thursday at around 11:50 a.m. near a Gaslamp Quarter intersection. The motorcyclist had been traveling westbound when he ran a red light at Sixth Avenue and Broadway. He smashed into a Toyota Camry that was heading southbound after which three of his toes were severed. Police closed the intersection to clean up the wreckage and investigate the scene.

So many scenarios could have created the tragic circumstances above. In one, the man simply was not paying attention, ran the red light and hit the Camry. In another, he tried to stop, realized his brakes had failed him and had an unavoidable collision. Motorcyclist Dies after Hitting Wall and Falling Down Embankment

An unidentified motorcyclist was killed after a single vehicle accident in South Bay this morning. The victim had been traveling down the northbound 110 Freeway connector towards the westbound 105 when the incident occurred. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man lost control and hit a wall before careening down a 30 foot embankment where he was fatally injured. The accident occurred around 7 a.m. and paramedics were unable to assist the rider, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigation is ongoing as to what caused the wreck and identification of the decease is being withheld until next of kin is contacted.
