Orange County Motorcycle Accident Results in Injuries

An early morning Orange County auto accident involving a motorcycle and a scooter resulted in injuries and caused one woman to be taken to the hospital. Police responded to the call about the collision at around 8 a.m. which had occurred on Cannon Street and Carver Lane and involved a blue and white Harley Davidson Motorcycle and a silver scooter. Driver Killed In Crash of Santa Rosa

In Santa Rosa, police are in the process of investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist. Early Saturday morning, a 21-year-old motorcyclist crashed into an SUV, suffering injuries that ended fatal. The man was identified as Trystan Shelley of Sebastol.

Shelley, a graduate of Analy High School in 2006, was currently attending Santa Rosa Junior College. Upon arrival at the scene of the motorcycle accident, Shelly was pronounced dead by paramedics, and had apparently died upon impact. According to police reports, the driver of the SUV, Luis Medina, was not suspected of drunk driving. Medina was not injured in the accident. Investigation of the accident is ongoing as officials are still seeking details from witnesses.

Gardena Man Dies From Motorcycle Crash Injuries

A man from Gardena, aged 24, died on Thursday night from injuries he sustained in an earlier accident. Earlier in the week on Saturday, the man, identified as Leonard Torres, crashed his motorcycle into a truck that was parked., at a site in Ojai. According to reports, Torres was traveling down Highway 33, just south of Chorro Grande Creek, when he lost control of the motorcycle, crashing into the parked truck. Since the man was coming around a left turn, he slid off and underneath the parked truck.

CHP officers accompanied by others at the scene of the accident removed Torres after lifting the truck from atop him. After the 12:20 pm accident, Torres was taken to the Ventura County Medical Center, where he remained for the past five days until he died. The medical examiner reported the time of death as 10:30 pm on Thursday night.

The hot topic in Orange County is of course the number of motorcycle accidents that have begun to crop up as of late, including one involving a Garden Grove man who died while lane splitting . While many people are trying to blame lane splitting, proponents say the practice is safe if both motorcyclist and car drivers pay attention and obey the rules of the road.

Which leads to the topic of what the true cause of recent motorcycle accident related deaths has been. People who say lane sharing is the culprit do not have the data to back that up. Current research does exists however, that seems to indicate that many motorcycle collisions are caused by speeding, improper turning or passing, and unsafe lane changes. Motorcyclist in Critical Condition after Westminster Crash

A motor cycle rider who had been weaving in and out of traffic sustained serious injuries Sunday afternoon when he slammed into a car that was slowing down to make a turn. The thirty-year-old man, who hailed from the Huntington Beach area, collided with the car on Beach Boulevard near Bishop Street in the Westminster area. Witnesses say that the man was weaving in and out of traffic until he impacted a Scion Coupe that was slowing down to enter the parking lot of a local restaurant. The collision occurred at around 2:30 p.m. and the driver of the Scion was uninjured.

The motorcyclist, who had been driving a red Yamaha R6, was taken to the UCI Medical Center and is currently listed in critical condition. He suffered head trauma as well as multiple fractures. The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family.

Man Dies at Santa Rosa Memorial After Motorcycle Crash

A man that that was involved in a motorcycle crash on Sunday is now reported to have died on Monday morning, at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. According to reports, Donald Murray was trying to avoid the accident when he ended up hitting the vehicle.

Murray was riding his 2006 Yamaha motorcycle through vehicles on the straight of Highway 1 when a 1986 Chevy pickup turned ahead of him, forcing him to hit his brakes. Murray lost control, was thrown from his vehicle, and the bike then flipped onto its side. At this point, Murray and his motorcycle hit the turning vehicle. Upon impact, the truck was thrown off the road into a nearby hedge, while the motorcycle finally stopped and the man landed next to the truck.

A REACH helicopter arrived at the scene, escorting Murray to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Unfortunately, Murray was pronounced dead at 10:35 Monday morning. Juan Rubio, the pickup truck’s driver, was uninjured but did mention neck pain after the motorcycle accident.

Ventura County Motorcyclist Killed after Road Rage Incident

In what appeared to be a road rage related incident, a motorcyclist was dragged 75-feet by an RV after a collision on Highway 101. The unidentified biker was traveling south on US 101 around 12:00 p.m. Monday when he apparently got into a heated exchange with the RV driver. Witnesses told authorities that the motorcycle driver made obscene gestures before pulling in front of the RV and hitting his brakes. The motorcycle’s rear tire got caught under the front bumper and lost control. The 57-year-old biker was then ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead on the scene. He was wearing a skull cap at the time of his death which is not an official protective piece of head gear.

Martinez Man Dies After Motorcycle Collides With Garbage Truck

A man died on Wednesday in a motorcycle accident when he slammed into a garbage truck in Concord. The man, identified as Joseph McMahon, a 44-year-old resident of Martinez, crashed into the truck at around 2:30. McMahon was headed west through the intersection as the garbage truck, of Concord Disposal Service, was headed north through the same area. It appears the accident resulted after one of the two vehicles ran a red light, causing the accident to take place. The garbage truck was located in the 4900 block of Ygnacio Valley, and McMahon became pinned in his vehicle underneath. Unfortunately, McMahon was pronounced dead at the scene of the motorcycle accident.
