A motorcyclist was taken to a local trauma center shortly after an injury inducing accident where his toes were severed. The accident occurred Thursday at around 11:50 a.m. near a Gaslamp Quarter intersection. The motorcyclist had been traveling westbound when he ran a red light at Sixth Avenue and Broadway. He smashed into a Toyota Camry that was heading southbound after which three of his toes were severed. Police closed the intersection to clean up the wreckage and investigate the scene.
