Monday morning, a Sonora Man identified as Mark Smith was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident on Hwy 49. The accident took place when Smith approached a turning vehicle on the highway. In an effort to avoid an accident, Smith came to a sudden stop but was thrown from his motorcycle. After being ejected from his Harley Davidson, Smith skidded 135 feet. He was pronounced dead on the scene of the motorcycle accident.
