An unidentified motorcyclist was killed after a single vehicle accident in South Bay this morning. The victim had been traveling down the northbound 110 Freeway connector towards the westbound 105 when the incident occurred. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man lost control and hit a wall before careening down a 30 foot embankment where he was fatally injured. The accident occurred around 7 a.m. and paramedics were unable to assist the rider, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigation is ongoing as to what caused the wreck and identification of the decease is being withheld until next of kin is contacted.
Single motorcycle accidents have a number of causes and some of them are in no way related to driver error. For instance, someone could cut the bike rider off causing them to lose control and swerve. In other cases, a faulty or defective auto part could be the culprit.
