A Monday morning accident in Sun Valley hospitalized an LAPD officer after he was hit by another driver. Authorities suspect that drunk driving played a role in the accident, and that the other vehicle’s driver was intoxicated when the crash took place. Around 9 pm, the police officer, who was traveling near Lankershim Boulevard in LA, was hit unexpectedly by another vehicle. According to reports, the driver who hit the motorcycle had attempted to complete a turn in front of police officer at an intersection.

When authorities arrived at the crash, the LAPD officer had already suffered injuries, and was complaining of pain. His vital signs did not indicate a critical problem, but the officer was taken to Providence Holy Cross for treatment. Police officers who responded to the motorcycle accident took in the other driver on suspicion of drunk driving.
